Technology is interesting, but I truly believe that people are the real value to any organisation
With over 20 Years experience in transformation programme delivery, I’ve been lucky enough to cover a number of different roles, industries and topics in that time, and work with some amazing people.
I started my Technology journey back in 2003, working for Vodafone UK as a systems configuration analyst, specialising in CRM platforms.
I then formally trained as a Business Analyst, also covering process analysis, UML and data modelling.
Looking back at this time, before Business Change was an established practice, I recognise many similarities in activities and approach, that are held up as essential for successful transformation delivery today.
I then stepped into the world of consulting for a number of years, assisting companies such as COLT Telecom and SABMiller with large scale Transformation programmes, before returning to Vodafone Business Group as a Senior Transformation Manager in 2016.
This is where I really grew my skills as a Change Leader. I’ve led change on a number of successful global transformation programmes, establishing team structures, ways of working, processes, tools and templates.
Whilst establishing best practice, I also experimented with how Business Change can successfully fit into an Agile world, resulting in definition of a new Agile delivery framework.
Throughout my career, my focus has always been on the human side of change. To me, technology is interesting, and clearly has a fundamental role in the future of pretty much all industries, but I truly believe that people are the real value to any organisation.
Finding the right people, nurturing, developing and retaining them are key ingredients to a successful business. Every role and level from Graduate, to Manager to Executive is fundamental, and ensuring your people have the tools, skills, knowledge and environment to be their best, will deliver visible results in employee satisfaction and business performance.
In my spare time, I love being outdoors. I have 2 primary school age children, so dragging them out and about often brings it own challenges. Luckily, I have a dog, and enjoy fishing, so have always got a buddy to keep me company for a few hours.
